Ok so I just bought a steel tank stand. After setting it up and placing the empty tank on it, it feels kinda wobbly. I can support 220 pounds (how much I weigh) easily but I am worried about the wobbling. The tanks reccomended for 1 30 gallon tank. The old stand it was on (again while empty) is made out of wood but I am not sure what type. I bought it for 30-40 bucks at target so I am not sure how study it is. It to holds my weight pretty easily but wobbles less then the steel stand.

20 gallon tank weighs 156 pounds of water and the tank itself is probably around 50 pounds?

Would both work or should I stick to the steel 30 gallon rack?

If the steel stand is rated for a 30 gallon tank, then it should be fine. Try to set it up on a solid floor, unlike carpet that will allow it to wobble a bit. It should be just fine though.

Well I think I plan to move it to the wood since it seems more study on carpet. I am stuck with tanks being in my room only (which is carpeted). Im short on room as is lol. I have a small room with a 10, 20 long and 30 gallon fish tanks. Somehow I still have room for a full sized bed and a desk for my PS3 and computer setup. At only 200-230 pounds the tank should be fine since the wood can easily stand my weight.
