How Much To Feed The Fish

Right this is starting to bug me!

How do i know how much to feed them.One day theres bits left over others there isnt also how often?

I feed as much as they will eat in 2 minutes once a day, however, it varies very widely and there is'nt a strict amount

Ok well the next problem is i have set feeding times and use a automatic feeder i just refill. The times i feed them normally involve me being out the house as i leave at 6.30 in the morning and get back home about 6.30 at night.

On wednesday nights and sunday nights i treat them to some blood worm by hand but apart from that the feeder does it all.

Should i only feed them once a day maybe or twice but small amounts. I was hoping the feeders instructions would help.

You could half the size of the portion if it was once a day and feed twice a day, that would be fine

Yea and supose if they look hungrey when i check on them after work could give them a little more

They could potentially go without food for a week or more... i would ditch the automatic feeder and feed by hand when ever you can and/or feel it necessary.. it really doesn't matter (and could be beneficial to them and your tank) that you don't feed them every single day.

You could, but keep in mind that fish will eat and eat and eat and eat and eat eat, so don't feel guilty if they're looking at you with sad eyes when you get home

Ive just set the feeder to 8.30 now in the morning and closed the shutter one tab see how that works. So they will get one feed aday except treat day.

Fingers crossed: Fed and happy fish, Less poos and less chances of illnesses from uneaten food!
