I managed to get a bottle of ammonia to help start cycling my tank, and also got an API master test kit. My tank is an 80l with an internal filter, how much ammonia do I add to bring it up to the right level?

Just a ruff guide, like a few drops or a cup full, I just don't know were to start and don't want to waste to much of the testing kit just seeing if iv'e got it right when really I am nowhere near  .

Thanks

Ive yet to try a fishless cycle as I've not set up a new tank for years, however as far as I know, the first few goes you need just add the ammonia and see. This will require quite a bit of testing but I don't think there is any way around that. Try a few drops in a cup of water and test to see what it does to the that. That'll give you a rough guide as to how much you can add to a 80lt, whether its drops or bucket loads. Over time you'll get used to adding the right amount to get the desired level of HN3.

My 100 litre tanks needs about 4.0ml of ammonia to raise the ammonia levels to about 4. For your tank I would add about 20 drops of ammonia then test the water to see what level the ammonia is at. If it's not high enough then keep repeating until the levels are high enough.
