How Much Should My Betta Be Eating?

i've only got normal flakes at the moment which the woman at the lfs reakon he'd been eating...at the moment the first 2-3 flakes he eats and then the rest he eats and spits out......does this mean he doesn't like them and is still hungry?
I think I will get him some proper betta flakes and live food, will this help him?

Get some live food for him and always remember the more you feed your betta the more you have to change the water

Also, do not overfeed live foods. They should be used in conjunction with flake.

Mine womt touch and sort of flake i have to feed pellets and i give them about 10 a day thoughout the day

he eats more flake now about 6-8 pieces before he starts spitting out anything afterwards...i think his tolerance has gone up.
He has also been going at possible danio eggs and/or fry i think.
I have for now ordered some food off ebay which is special pellets made from live foods so it will be more to his taste....i also plan to get live food aswell
