How Much Sand Is Needed For My Tank?

I've seen some sand I like and they come in 2kg or 8kg bags.

How much would I need to fill the bottom of my 180 litre?

I wouldn't want it so it's too deep. Just a nice amount for the corydoras fish to overturn and also thinking about planting real plants.

The woman at the fish shop said I'd need two or two and a half 8kg bags.

25KG would do it, a bag from toysrus for a fiver, job done

Buy three 8kg bags and see how it looks with 2+ bags in it, u need a good depth if you are planting real plants.

I purchased a 50 lbs bag (so roughly 25kg) from the local home store just simple play sand and it did my 29 US gallon tank with plenty to spare (I had about an inch inch and half layer)

25 kgs should be plenty, but don't buy it from the fish store, they overcharge. Go to a home improvement store and get some simple play sand much cheaper.

How odd, I actually bought two bags of that sand from Argos today.

I first went to B&Q but their play sand didn't look nice.
