How Much Sand/gravel

I am in the throws of setting up my Tropheus Tank how much Sand/Gravel do people use I have a 39" x 30" I was thinking 40 lbs of the african cichlid mix

not sure on weight but i would say no deeper than 1 inch

I am sure I have seen a calcultor somewhere will work it out thanks

Calculator shows 45lb so 2 bags will be spot on

HI, most of the pics. and videos I have seen of Tropheus set ups have very little sand in them , they are usually quite shallow sand, saying that they will still sift through it and spit it everywhere
Just out of curiosity what species are you going to be keeping ?
