I thought I recalled someone suggesting anubias to me as a low light plant for my 10 gal (17W for 10 gal) but on the Dr Foster and Smith site it suggests 2 to 3 watts per gallon. So can someone tell me how much light anubias barteri and anubias nana need?

They don't need much, but with more light they will grow a bit faster. They are slow growers and spot algae likes to live on their really long living leaves. That's why I wouldn't keep Anubias species in too bright light.

Anubias need hardly any light at all.

Mine grow well, if slow, in my 10 gallon with a 15W light, and also in my 20 high with 20W of light. I get a new leaf every two to three weeks

edit: in fact, they grew just fine in my 46g bowfront for six months, with only 30W of light.

They grow at almost twice that rate in my 2wpg tank, but tend to get the green spot algae that rain- mentioned.
