i have 40 fry that are constently growing now my question is how much food is too much food (im not worried about water quality cuz i have a 20 gallon filter for the 13.5 gallon tank ) but i do wanna know (since the trick is to feed alittle many times) (for fast growth) how much is too much

sorry if this is confuzing lol

thanks for all those that dicide to help :D

I feed my babies about twice a day. When I do that, I crumble a pinch of flake food between my fingers, drop it in, wait about 3 minutes then do the same again. I also have a small slice of cucumber in there for them to munch on. I do believe that's enough for my little ones.

I FEED MY FRY EVERY 2 HOURS DURING DAYTIME HOURS SMALL PINCH OF CRUSHED FLAKE THAT I PUT IN EMPTY FOOD TUB GRIND IT DOWN BUT I ALSO DO 25% WATER CHANGE EVERY DAY TO KEEP THE BALANCE FOR ANY EXTA FOOD THAT DOESNT GET EATEN THIS WAS RECOMENDED WITH MY LFS AS HE DOES THE SAME DURING SHOP OPEN HOURS IT WORKS FOR ME BUT SOME MAY DIFFER

If you read the pinned article on looking after your fry in the livebearer section it tells you all about feeding -how often and what types of food etc.Its a really good guide

Hi Dude :)

Because fry are so little and have very tiny stomachs, it's better to feed them a little at a time, but feed them often. Unless there is uneaten food remaining, you are not likely to be overfeeding them.

Another thing to remember is that fry do best with frequent water changes, so vacuum the bottom often while doing this. It will help them grow as well as keep the level of harmful bacteria, that thrive on uneaten food, low. :D
