I am looking into upgradingto a Juwel Trigon 350, and would like to know roughly how much gravel I would need. The dimennsions are Volume: 350 Litres
Size: 123 x 65 x 87 cm.

Thank You

I used Rowdyburns' method, which worked a treat.

Length x width of tank (which will give you cm2 of tank floor) x wanted depth of sand (all in cm)This will give you an answer in cm3- I just roughly work out how many cm3 is in a bag your buying (length x width x height)Job donewell thats how ive done it before and it worked out pretty accurate especially for sandHope it helps

Cheers,

Paul.

I don't mean to sound stupid, but I can't work that out.

Has anyone got a Trigon 350? How much would you recommend?

Thank You

How hard can it possibly be?

Find out how high you want the sand to be from the bottom of the tank...

Then times the length of the tank by the high of the sand you want times by the width of the tank - and there you go. It can't be that hard :shout:

It's a bit more complicated than normal because of the awkward shape of the tank.

I would do it this way:

Volume of Tank = 350l = 350,000cm3

Area = 350,000 / 65 = 5,385cm2

Volume of Gravel (1 inch deep) = 5,385 x 2.54 = 13,678cm3

So you need to get a bag that holds approximately 14,000cm3. The only problem is that they usually come in weights rather than volumes, so just take a tape measure and roughly work it out (lenghth x width x height).

Hope that helps (and I hope its right)

Paul.
