whats a good number to keep, or the minimum number you should keep together???

6 juvenilles ideally, can get away with a pair of full sized adults.
I think you could go for less than 6 juvenilles if you had to.

60G with a black ghost knife and 2 synodontis angelicus..... i already have 1 discus....(rescued)

edit - the reason i asked is to get my discus some friends....

Small discus do better in a group. AS with almost all cichlids they have a pecking order. If you only have 3 or 4 the strongest will pick on the weaker ones until they get sick and die. Normally 6 is the smallest group that you can get a way with and have success. It helps spread out the aggression. 8 to 10 works much better.

Godd Luck.

P.S this was written in reference to growing out young fish. Adults can be different. Then it just depends on the fish but normally larger groups still do better.

okies so 6+

--- i dont have to buy them all toghter do i just as long as they are all still small and young right?

That will work as long as all are healthy. The trouble with getting fish from multiple sources is that if you get just one sick fish then you can lose everyone. Most of the time I would suggest getting all at once to help reduce your exposure.
