well im makin an all livebearer tank that is ten gallons. i plan on buying only fish around one inch, so heres my set up:
heavily planted 10 gallon breeder, (watersprite, hornwort, jungle val, and anacharis) with large Drift wood
Fluval 204 canister filter

what fish i want:
6 guppys
5 platies/mollies

is this an ok setup?
thx bye

In a 10 gallon? No. You'd have to pick one of those Livebearer groups, but Mollies wouldn't work in a 10 gallon. They get too big. So you can go for maybe 4 female and 2 male Guppies, or 3 females and 1 male Platy. All of them together is going to be way too much, plus you have to save room for fry.

Do you have a plan for all the babies yet?

i have another tank running right now JUST for fry. :)
but wait, shouldnt i be able to stock more cause of the overfiltering?

It's not just about overfiltering; they need room to get around. I reckon you could mix platies and guppies (2 females, 1 male of each) as long as you are able to make separate provision for the fry. Remember that livebearer fry become sexually mature very early and then will need to be segragated.

well im going with platys. i can always just have guppies in the new tank later. i dont really like platies in community tanks anyways... dont know why... but i think its cause their colours clash with other fish.. so think they look better in species tanks. :)

I'd just start with a trio then. That way you can keep a few of your fry in there when they grow up. No need to stock all at once. :) Or how did you cycle it?
