How Many Starter Fish In Rio 180 Litre

Hi, how many starter fish do you think I should have in a Rio 180 litre tank, I've got 6 neons and 2 dwarf gouramis, is this enough to start filter working, or do you think I should have a couple more? I was thinking of maybe 2 catfish, but don't want to overdue anything.

My personal opinion is that would be enough for the moment, although as "starter fish" these were probably not the best choice. Neons usually get on better in more mature tanks, and dwarf gouramis tend to be open to bacterial infections. If the worst happens with these fish, I would suggest something more along the lines of danios if cycling with fish is still the route you are taking. But for now, just keep testing the water and carrying out water changes to keep the ammonia and nitrite levels down.

Yup, pretty much what Squid said, not really the best options But it is a large tank so they should be ok if you look after it well.

Best options if they do die however are Danio's and Rosy Barbs. Just keep up the water changes and it shouldn't come to that
