How many peppermint shrimps can I put in a 10 gal reef? I read they like to be in groups and since i love my shrimp, i want to find another peppermint (i havent seen any for sale in a long while..)

This would also depend on what other clean up crew you have. You dont want them to go hungry, but if you really like them alot you could safely have 3 to 4 in a ten gallon with out too much problem. Personally, if you like shrimp, I think you should check out sexy shrimp. You can have a whole herd of them in a 10 gallon, and they have great color and personality. They cost less then peppermint shrimp, and are so much fun to watch. Good luck, hope that helps.

I agree, sexy shrimps are one of my favorit shrimps! wonderful littlethings and are fantastic to watch with the hypnotic wagging tails!

Shrimps do not place as uch strain on the bioload so its possible to keep far more of these than fish but the problem is not one of bioload capabilities, its more a territorial thing, even though these shrimps are communal, too many will still feel cramped and aggresion might start. You must remember, these are communal shrimp but when it comes to shrdding their skins, if they find a shrimp still with a soft shell newly emerged from moulting then its as good as dinner! Shrimps will need rom to be able to moult and harden in safety without fear of being eaten when they are defenceless

I never heard of sexy shrimps. I'll hav eto see if the petshops carry them around here. I've seen the usual cleaner shrimps and blood shrimps, almost never any other kinds. maybe it can be ordered for me

Edit: I just saw images of sexy shrimps.. they're ugly! yet adorable enough to put in my tank:D

Someone mentioned clean up crew, they're in my siggy. But my peppermine eats the flakes, brine and pellet food I offer, so I wont have to worry about it starving. Sexy shrimps eat flakes and pellets as well?

They are much much smnaller than most shrimps but they will accept foods just as readily.
