How Many Rams?

How many rams (german or bolivian, but prob would want bolivian) could fit comfortably in a 30G? Maybe consider in pairs or just lone males (if they are as teritorial as some of the bigger cichlids)

i have a pair of bolivians in a 20 gal, and they're fine, so you could easily get a pair in your 30 gallon

DO NOT get 2 males, I had 2 males and the dominant one would harass the non-dominant one, until his fins were all ripped up, I was scared of him getting fin rot so I had to give him away...Get a male and a female, there has been a couple of recent thread on how to sex bolivian rams, just search for "Bolivian Rams" and you should find them easily.

if you dont mind rehoming 4 at a later stage id get 6. go for young or semi adults. wait til youve got an obvious pair. remove the rest and sell them or you might have use for them somewhere else in the future who knows? buying 6 will ensure when a pair does form you dont have just one or 2 getting nailed with aggression. if your clever and trust ur sexing abilities then go for 2 straight away and pick a male and a female. ive done this with kribs and the 2 i picked wouldnt breed. put me off the whole "just get a male and female" idea. i like getting 6+ to start with. just a thought neither way is wrong

I wouldnt really wanna get two males anyways , so I don't know why I even mentioned it, cause seeing how they're new worlds, could prob figure they would pesture eachother.

I had two jacks and the one got beat up pretty good and wasnt even let up to the surface to eat by the other jack, so I took him back to the lfs. on a side note: Hopefully he gets bought soon, I feel bad for him. He's by himself (1.5") in a tank (maybe 20G) with eleven 2-2.5" tiger oscars. He was just backed into the corner and looked pissed (almost completely black, almost couldn't see him).
