looking into getting some of these guys, have a 64 litre (2 foot long) tank currently with one betta and 9 T.espei. how many pygmy corys could i add to my tank. dont mind if i would be slightly over stocked because i would be willing to put in the time and effort to keep all my fish happy and healthy even if it means more frequent water changes and tank cleaning lol :) ?

You have a nicely stocked 64l already with a Betta and 9 T. espei, I think it is time to scour the ads for a cheap second-hand tank for anything else, including the often midwater schooling "pygmy" Corydoras species.

i thought it was to be fair :) yes i shall have to see what i can find! and save up a bit of money too if im going to get another tank :)

Corys in general like to shoal, and 6 of the same species is the accepted number for the corys to feel comfortable. Do you have live plants in the tank? That can help with bioload. A plus that your are willing to do frequent water changes. That helps with oxygenation, as well as pollutants. An air pump would help as well. I think it is workable.

hi thanks for the reply :) yes my tank is planted, i was thinking if i did get some then i would have to get at least 6. hopefully it will be workable. although i havent seen any pygmy corys in my local shop, the nearest place to me that sells fish is pets at home. although if needs be i can travel a bit further to a proper aquatics store :)
