Can I have in my 21L ( 5 US Gal just over) if it EVER cycles?

I would say about 5-7 as they are very small and do like to be in groups of 5minimum from my knowledge

Is it going to be just the rasboras Twinkle?

If so, judging by one of my shrimps tanks (20L) which has lots of shrimps and is quite filled out with bogwood and plants, I had 6 Emerald dwarf rasbs and 4 Galaxy rasbs (all same size) and there was still plenty of room in there. I reckon you could get away with 10 easily ;)

REALLY? Wow I was thiking 6 max, thanks. Yeah it's just gonna be them :)

I'd say start with six and see how things pan out with filtration. A tiny tank like that can become a toxic "puddle" in the blink of an eye.

Given how quickly toxins will build up, fast growing plants would be a great asset, to soak up ammonia and nitrates (but not nitrites, these need bacteria to process). I'm not green fingered enough to suggest anything suitable for a 21l, but perhaps a thread in the planted section is worth a punt?

Meh my 60L is planted and I've found them almost as much hassle as the fish so I was planning on plastic plants for this one. It's a good point though about the Nitrates. I've definitely noticed the difference with this compared to my 60L which rarely goes above 15ppm and has never been above 20!

Maybe it won't do any harm to take some cuttings from my 60L and see how they go. The 20L does however already have some floating plants as we were originally planning on getting Sparking Gourami.

Just want to check we`re definitely on about the Galaxy Rasbora aka Celestial Pearl Danio? I`m pretty sure they`re the same fish but better safe than sorry ;)

They are a maximum size of 1" and if you can roughly tell the size of the really red shrimp in the pic below?........the rasbs were smaller than the shrimp. May give you an idea of the size you`re looking at.
The rasbs seem to enjoy swimming more around the planting and bogwood at the bottom of the tank, they seem to like the cover of the densness but do get very active around the rest of the tank when they`re fed :)

Hi, yeah I mean the same fish.

I'm excited now. I was thinking of getting some bogwood for it actually (though it'll have to be small) so now you've said that I prob will.
