Hello I was just wondering how many fry can live comfortably in a 10 gallon tank?

I know as they grow they will probably need a bigger tank....but Will they be able to stay in there until they are big enough to go in with the adults?

i have roughly 60 fry in the tank now.....how many more can i add?

Thank You

I keep easily 300 angel fry in a 10 from hatching until 3 weeks old. After that they go into a 20. Granted, angel fry are smaller than livebearer fry, but after a few weeks some are nearly pea body size. You will probably be ok until they hit around 1/2" long. After that they will need more room. The sooner you give them more room to grow, the faster they will grow, at least it works that way for me.

I have over 200 Sword fry(and one algea eater) in a 14.25 US gal. They vary from two days old to seven weeks (3/5"). However I have to do more frequent partial changes.

OK thank you very much....That is a relief to me because as i said before if have 70 fry in there and a whole bunch more on the way...I have 2 platies ready to give birth and three guppies! Yikes....anyone want some fry?

I would suggest an extra growout, looking for a nice cheap one myself. Sucks being poor and loving fry!! I am glad that it will be about another month or so before I get any more little buggers. I just hope to get some sold before then so I can get a extra 10gal or something.

I doubt the fry would survive the 8,000 mile journey and the cost would be scary to say the least. :p So I for one can't send you any. Better luck with fishguy18 :D
