hi

i have a 190l tank which was used for qt but have set it up now for a fish only so how many fish can go in it

thanks scott

EDIT:how many gallons is that tank also

Heh, depends on the fish Scott :). Are we talking predators, or fish that "play nice"? :)

certain fish require certain amount of water. such as guppies i know require at least 1 U.S. gallon per fish... you should look into whatever type of fish you are looking in getting or already have, and see how many you can stock up on. =)

With marines there isnt really any general rule of thumb when it comes to how many fish a tank can hold.
Like Ski said, it depends on what fish you want to have.
For example, if you went down the preditor route I would say no more than a smaller lion and a triggerfish and possibly one other depending on water changes ect as they are messy fish.
But if you went down the reef route you could have more fish for example a couple of clown, royal grammer, midas blenny, smaller angel and possibly a yellow tang provided you could move the tang to something bigger later on.

You need to decide what sort of fish you are wanting to keep then we can help for with a stocklist. :good:

Having seen the mess a Triggerfish makes of a Lionfish when mixed together, I'd strongly advise you do not try mixing lions with triggers :good:

Otherwise, as the others have said, numbers depends on what you have your eye on...

All the best

i was more thinking on

a juv bluefaced angel and an emperor angel untill they start changing they would get moved in to a 700l tank i do a water changer every week about 3-5" in some tanks
juv queen angel 3"
the emperor about 2"
the blue faced 3"
a raffels butterfly

the angel will get added at the same time never kept juvs

so what you think they will get moved it is just untill i get the bigger tank built

what do you think and forget the queen angel got it for a anothe tank

It depends on how long the fish will be in there for.
If they are in there long enough for them to start morphing into adults I think that is when your problems may beging.
Provided they are all added at the same time, fed well, and not in there too long I dont see how it will be a problem.
