How Many Fish..

Depends on how big they are and what type they are.
As a guide on a newly cycled tank you can aim for 1" of small fish per US gallon.

Im aiming for fish that stand out, bright colours etc. But not DP as you carn't mix them with other tropical fish.

There simply is no set number of fish to go in a specific size tank.
You have to research your fish - this is a good starting point - http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showforum=36
Then how many fish will fit (happily and safely) depends on the adult size of the fish, it's temperment, it's type (fish that eat lots of veggie matter produce lots of waste, while fish like corys produce relatively little waste in comparison), it's compatibility with other fish, etc.

It depends on how big the fish are and what kind of fish they are, of course, but as a very general estimate, I'd say 5 or six medium-sized fish (2 to 4 inches in length) or about 10 to 12 very small fish (under 2 inch length) could do well in that tank. This is just a rough guidline

hope this helps
