How Many Fish....

Hate to break this to you but thats a very open question, main variables are

a: max. size of the fish
b: aggresiveness of fish
c: dimensions of tank, some prefer it high, others long

I know that doesnt really help but even if you could give us some idea of maybe what fish that would be good, plus rough dimensions

Andrew

Oh right i see, well she dont know what fish she wants yet maybe sum neon's and pink danio's.

Dimensions: Length 60cm x width 30cm x height 32cm tank, with hood fitted 38cm. Contains 50 litres of water

ahh a 2'x1'x1'

I have no experience with danios, most people round here say the need LOTS of swimming room,a 2' tank may do it, it may not. I advise you wait for some one with more experience danios wise

Otherwise other fish?
Neons are fine, as would be any small tetra (with the neons and few other fish I'd be careful as depending on the sorce the maybe touchy and not like new tanks)
corydorus catfish, prefrebly ones on the smaller side considering tank size eg panda cory or brochis splendens (emerald catfish)
bristlenose or oto's
dwarf cichlid (eg a pair of rams/trio of apistogramma cacatuoide/agassizii, see above neon warning)
platies/guppies/endlers
dwarf gourami

numbers
say 6-8 small fish (neons/guppies)
3-4 corydorus
1 set of dwarf cichlids or 1 ram and 1dwarf gourami
bristle/oto

this would max out the tank pretty much, also please consider these ideas only, feel welcome to research these fish, and use that as a base to move on from, eg dont like dwarf gourami, hmmmm what else is a middle/top swimmer grows about 5cm lets go look through the fish index, click here

thats around a 14 g tank so your looking 14" of fish total. no fish should really be bigger than 2/3" in that size tank.

i wouldn't put danio's in anything smaller than 25/30g tanks, they like a lot of room.

any of the smaller less active tetra's or rasboras is fine

i have a fair few danios in my 180 lt tank, and they are growing really fast, suggesting they are happy, they were moved from a previous smaller tank, and they were sad until they were moved, so i would agree with everyone else, danios need a very large swimming space, and dont particulaly settle near the bottom, ever!

Ive been told they are quite peaceful towards other fish just not with eachother, thats why you can not put them together??

that's not strictly speaking true. there's a good pinned topic in the betta forum about betta tankmates, have a read of that
