Hi,

Could you please explain how you work out how many fish you can have in a tank?

My tank is a Rekord 96 (96 litres ish) and i plan on keeping Guppies and Tetras to start.

Edited as i put gallons instead of litres....

The rule is one inch per gallon for fish.
Guppies kept them not very hardy at all, so it's up to you they are nice fish but come down with alot of illnesses.
Tetra's are fine, also the harlequin is a nice fish, also i would advise some corys for the bottom of the tank.

1 inch to every US gallon. Athough I've also heard 1cm of adult fish to every litre. That applies to slim bodied fish, ie guppys, mollys, smaller tetras, etc.

if you test weekly your water stats, you will usually find your tank limit when the filter can no longer handle its bioload...its also recomended to research the fish as much as you can...even though some fish might fit...some prefer swimming room or are territorial....so just research research research...hope this helps

1 litre = 0.264172051 US gallon
1 litre = 0.219969157 Imperial gallon(uk)

96 Litres = 25.36 US Gallons or 21.12 Imperial Gallons (UK)

:)
