I have a 20 gallon, cycled tank. I currently have a small black ghost knife (about 5 inches long), a small spotted sailfin pleco (about 1.5 inches long), and one male platy (sadly, his mate died).

First off, I realize the future sizes of the first two fish, they will be upgraded to a much larger tank this summer, for now they should be just fine.

I think its time to add a little to my tank and was looking for some recomendations on what type and how many I should introduce at one time.

Not many cause as you say your first two fish will get bigger, and this will happen fast. But you should get like 3 to 5 cories. There fun and good bottom feeders.

I have heard a few things about the correct number of fish to introduce into a tank at one time. Basically, though, don't add in more than the number of fish you already have in there. It's a great idea to quarantine your new fish in case they introduce disease. and I agree with Da_Oz. cories rock!! they are wicked fun, I'm positively in love with mine. they're very social fish. make sure not to add any salt into your tank if you do decide to purchase some. best of luck
