How Many Fish A Tank

What are the dimensions of the tank, robert?

If your filtration is good and you keep up the weekly water changes, you could have a maximum of 30 one inch fish or 15 two inch fish (based on stocking one inch of fish to every 12 square inches of surface area).

Nothing that grows to more than a couple of inches should be in a two foot tank, and obviously you'll need to cycle the tank and build up the stock gradually.

i was thinking three pigmy cats and two albino cat and two golden laoches and a clown pleco i had the tank for about three months now

Albino cats (I assume that's albino cories Corydoras aeneus, correct me if I'm wrong!) need to be in groups of at least six and are, in all honesty, too big for your tank anyway.

The golden loaches (which will be either Chinese algae eaters Gyrinocheilus aymonieri ot weather loach Misgurnus anguillicaudatus) will also get too big; you could have pygmy chain loaches, but again they need to be in groups of 6+.

The pygmy cats could be Ototcinlus or one of the dwarf corydoras species, and would do fine in a tank that size, but again need to be in a shoal of at least six individuals.

The clown pleco is a bit big, but are quite sedentary and would be fine; you won't see it much though!

To help you choose, what fish do you have in there now, what decor/substrate do you have, and is your water hard or soft?

dwarf corys and albino cats and one clown pleco. and three golden loches . in the tank six plants two bits of bog wood lage bits and sand on bottom
