How Many Females To One Male?

Would it be better to get 2 or 3 females to a single male? Or would a single pair be better?

I'd be getting pearls probably, if QSS has them in. If not I may consider blue/golds as I know they definitely have them. Would that change the ratio?

2:1 is ok. 3:1 would be ok too. A single pair is not a good idea; the female will chased constantly by the male.

I just picked up some nice pearls. I thought about just buying two females but decided to keep my breeding options open and get a male too. So far, so good.
