Hi,
I'm making a single tank for all of my adult bettas. Some people call it a betta barracks. I Will have 2 males divided in one half (not together) and the other half for females. How many females can i keep in half of a 12 gallon?

Full tank= 20"X10"19".
After dividing the males, 10"X10"X19" for the females.

Thanks!

So pretty much only going to be 6gallons of space right.
I wouldn't keep a sorority in that size. You need at the very least 4 females for a sorority to keep aggression down, AND you would have to provide enough hiding places for them to get away from eachother.
I had a 10gal I divided. Had about 3 gals for a male, and the rest for a sorority, and it did not work out too well. There just wasn't enough space for the females to get away from eachother even though I provided caves and planted it heavily.

Just my opinion though. You can obviously try what you want, just be sure if you do decide to try a sorority to have backup tanks for females that are too aggressive to be kept with others.
