Hey guys so i have three 5 gal. tanks, each housing 1 male betta and 2 cories in each. But would it be possible to put anymore cories in each tank? I know they are better kept in large groups but didnt wana be overstocking my tank !

Thats a good question to ask the corydoras experts in the other section of this forum under the heading of catfish. I am assuming you mean corydoras cause I call mine catties. Silly me if we are talking about something entirely different.

Depends on there type, Dwarfs or Pygmy's you could get away with a few more anything else shouldn't be in less than 15Gal

For the short period of time I kept betta splendens (about 10 months), I used to house one male with 3 panda corys in a 2.5 gal. tank. hen I finally gave away the bettas, I consolidated the rest of the tank contents into a 5.5 gal. It held some A. australe orange killies and the 5 pandas that remained.

When I eventually redid the 5.5 to hold cpds and rcs, the pandas, moved into a 50. Short answer is you could have 5 of the smaller corys in that size tank depending upon what else you have.

Alright so it shouldnt be too bad if i put say 5 or so in each 5 gallon? And yup "better is betta" i mean corydoras lol  Thanks for the feed back guys :good: (And i would go with pygmys)
