If my kH is 4, how many CO2 bubbles per second am I meant to have? My tank is 100g (400 litres).

My plants came today, so I've planted them and put my T5 lights on (they are really bright compared to my old T8s! and my plants look really green under them!) now I need to turn on my CO2.

Also, my solenoid didn't come with instructions. What side do I put the 'in' tube and the 'out' tube? - what way round do I put it?

I mean, it goes CO2- in tube - solenoid- out tube - bubble counter - reactor

Thanks

BPS are not that good. For my 60l it was reccomended i have 1 buble every 3 sec, i run 3BPS! For yours though i would start wiith 10bps, check your drop checker after 2 hours then adjust the level of gas injected accordingly. With a Kh of 4, and a ph of 6.6 then that is 30ppm of CO2.

Have a close look at your solenoid, it may well have an arrow on it showing you the direction of flow of the gas. To be honest though I can't see it making much difference, as at the end of the day it's a valve that is either open (power on) or closed (power off).

thanks a lot guys.

Yes, ^ there was an arrow, I was just too thick to notice it.

I bought a drop checker so I've sorted the CO2 now.

to be honest I'm not entirely sure because they're coming out too fast to count. I think approx ten. At least, that's what I'm aiming at.
