I've heard of them before, but they don't really sell them where I live. I don't think I'd purchase one...they remind me too much of fish bowls. ><

i can see how it can remind you of fish bowls but they are unlike anything a fish bowl.

i don't know, when i first saw the baby biOrb in the box, it just really appealed to me and i like that it's not your basic fish tank in rectangular or square shape.

the good thing is that there is an aquarium for everyone

Not really the best thing IMO- too expensive, not a great shape for fish, too small, and too awkward to maintain well for my liking. You could get a much better setup for much less.

well here's the thing....

it depends on what kind of fish you want to get. if you are going to get huge fish, then yes, this is not the tank for it.

for one betta, i would think it's a great tank.

cost is relative with what you are comfortable spending.

for the baby biOrb, a 4 gal tank, that comes with everything you need right off the bat, $59 wasn't a bad price for me. comes with your filter, cleaning pad, chemicals, food, biological media, tank light, air pump, lid. all you do is supply water and fish. the clean up is easy too and i wanted something different rather than a rectangular tank. asthetically, it is very pleasing to me which is why i opted for them.

so for smaller fish, where you are not going to keep a huge community tank nor bottom-feeders as this tank is not suitable for them, i would highly recommend it if it is in your budget.

plus you have a company that stands behind their products.

I've got 4 girls and a dwarf frog in my biorb and they love it, i've got plants all through it so they can hid, it looks great in my living room too

It looks nice. But how it is different from a round fish bowl? These looks like easy to clean.

I have just sold my baby BiOrb and bought 30Ltr (medium) one. Baby was set up as tropical and sold on as cold. Bought one cold medium and one tropical medium. I bought my baby just for my Beta (yes he is spoilt) but he now has some friends. I have red beta, two male mollies (had to take them from main tank as they were impregnating the girlies to often) and some Tetra's in with him.
He loves his new bigger home and often comes to say Hi at the side of tank.
Baby was a pain to clean, but the mediun is dead easy to clean and maintain.
