So, I brought my loach and pleco in and picked up three tiger barbs and two cories, now I will quarantine them for two weeks in my two ten gallons. First question,

Is two cories or three tiger barbs too much for one ten gallon tank? (IE two will go in one, three in the other).

Next question, after they are quarantined, can I add all five to my established 29 gallon, or no?

Thanks in advance.

You mean the cories and barbs in a single 10 gallon for quarantine? Or in 2 seperate 10 gallons? Yes they should be ok either way with regular water changes.

The loach needs to be in a group of at least 3 if it is a clown or khulie - just in case you didn't know.

As for the 3 barbs and cories. They would be fine in a 29 but the barbs should be in a group of 7 to keep aggression to a minnimum and I don't know what else is in your tank so I'm not sure if they are compatible...

Oops, I'll be more specific, I traded my loach and pleco in for the three barbs and two cories who I was planning on putting them in two seperate tanks, so that I don't get an ammonia spike, mostly I'm just wondering if that will happen if I put them all in the same time to just one ten gallon, and then later again if I add them all into the 29 gallon at the same time.

Once I add those three barbs to the 29 that brings my number up to 6 total tiger barbs and one buenos aires tetra who will be getting five more friends as soon as these guys I just got are settled in.

Okay, now, did I explain myself good?

:) lol yes.

You'll get a small ammonia spike in a 10 gallon I think but it should be ok in the 29. I think you are better off putting them in seperate 10 gallons due to nipping though - the tigers might harass the cories in such a small space.
