About how many angels could I be looking at adding? I was thinking about having just one but there are so many different colors and I can't choose just one...LoL. Nothing is in the tank ATM, it is fishless cycling, and I'm not 100% sure on what I'm putting in there but I will probably have a mixture of medium-large sized tetras, cories, loaches and plecos for sure. And maybe a single gourami. I plan on buying young angels, should they be all the same size? And should I add all of them at the same time? Where I work we don't take back fish so I don't know if I will be able to take any back if there were aggression problems, thats why I thought it would be best to get a big group of them to spread out the aggression. Any advice is much appreciated!

well im not a pro on angels, but i know that if you buy anywhere from 4-6 you will/might get a pair eventually and that will cause aggression,

but im not 100% sure but i think angels are beautiful and i expect pictures when they are in :D

good luck

id say 8, you could get 6 disus in there and there larger than angels with the same temprement.

I think the maximum for a 55g tank would be 4 angels to be honest (8 would be madness). I was advised 1 angel per ten gallons in a big tank, but I have (now empty) a 50g and it was really pushing it having 4 in that, and they were only babies when I had four. To be honest, if you had one nice pair of angels, that'd be good. You wouldn't have the worry of them fighting with others, as if you had 4, you'd most like get a pair that would pester the other two (or two pairs). If you only had two, you could also add other small cichlids, for example two rams? :good:

I think I might just go with a single angel then, or maybe start with 4 and talk to my boss about returning ones that don't get along. I'll have to see. I might think about discus too (not both in the same tank though)
