How long until adulthood?

I've got a lovely batch of platy fry in my community tank (born in my friends tank & put in the community, basically left them in there.. survival of the fittest & all that. Sounds cruel but no lfs here will take them and I didn't wanna have to kill them when they got older).

These guys must be around a month old now and are no longer in hiding - happily swimming around by the older fish. I'm wondring, how long will it be until they reach adult size? they're about 1.5-2cm at the moment - amazed my other fish still aren't snacking on them to be honest.

There are so many factors involved in answering you question. Temp/feeding/type/waterquality etc... Mine? about 4 months.....

i'd say about 4-5 months, thats just from memory, iv never bred platies

My platy is about 4 months old... just over an inch long now... i wouldn't say she's full grown yet. maybe another few months. I'll try and post a pic when I get home this evening
