How Long To Leave Cucumber In Tank?

Hey again
Well i have a snail problem and am going to try the cucumber trick, i was just wondering how long it can stay in there?
Also, what type of thing would i hold it down with- have been told fork, but am not sure if mine have anything in it that is harmful to the fish

I tie all my fruits/vegetables with lead weights that you get off bunched plants at your LFS, if your in there any time, just ask them for one, im sure they wouldnt mind giving you one

Assasin Snails are good for snail problems, they don't grow in numbers like the other common snails you get in the tank. How did you get the snails in there anyway might I ask? New Plants? Also, if there multiplying quickly it may be because you are over feeding your fish and there eating up plenty of left overs

Yeah i wanted assassin snails but can't find any in australia
Umm i found one on a plant and asked my LFS if it would harm my fish and they said it would be fine - They didn't say it would multiply
Haha i have cut back my feeding xD i was overfeeding a bit

Yeah they are fine, but they reproduce so quickly, if you find a clear jelly like substance on plants, bogwood etc, they are snail eggs so get rid of them . Now you have your feeding down, they should die off hopefully without the food.

I always leave my plants in water for a few hours before pruning and planting to see if any snails do end up in the water, then gently feel the plants for snail eggs, then remove any if present and plant them up
