Hi all,

I have a 10g shrimp tank with 3 endlers and about 30 rcs with a sponge filter. I decided to get a HOB filter for it because I didn't like seeing all the particles in the water and the sponge is ugly and takes up a lot of room. I was wondering how long I should wait before I can take the sponge filter out? I want the new filter to be cycled completely so I was thinking 6 weeks. Is that right? I put a sponge attachment on the intake so it wouldn't suck up any babies.

You could cut up the old sponge filter and stuff it into the HOB - and you'd be ready to go immediately - assuming it all fits in the HOB.
