How long should i have the fish tank light on for?

If its a general community then i would say 12 hrs max, thats hw long my lights are on for, but if you have plants in there dependant on the lightinng you may need to trim them a little more often.

Thanks - i want the plants to grow well but i also want the fish to feel in a natural environment.
