Hi,
This is my first post and probably a very silly basic question to some of you!
But I don't want to do the wrong thing.

My tank is a 260 size. Just set up two weeks ago and I have four swordtails.
Which are already becoming firm favourites!
Very cheeky.
What do I feed them apart from flakes which seem pretty boring to them!
I have added some plants with the fishes also a small rock

MAIN QUESTION!How long do I wait before introducing any more fish.
The PH balance is fine and I have done a small water change to make the fishes more comfortabe.
But I am so much a first timer its not true.
Alto I did have a couple of tanks years ago and my fishes thrived!
But it seems so complicated nowadays.

The site is brilliant thank you! :)

Hi there.

Well if your tank have been setup only for 2 weeks and you are only testing for PH I want to advise you to read the pinned topic about cycling on this forum. You have to test for atleast PH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate.

Your tank depending on amount of fish and filtering will atleast take 6 weeks to cycle fully and then only you can introduce more fish.

I agree with d3tained - however in teh meantime you can give them frozen food which they will love, like bloodworm, artemia, mosquito larvae etc. Mix one frozen cube up in warmish water(same temp as tank). I add mine one spoonful at a time to make sure they are eating it and its not going to waste.

What filter do you have in there as this will seriously determine how many fish you can have?

Thanks for info.

I have the filter system Juwel have with their set up when you buy the complete deal.
Have tested this morning for Nitrate and Nitrite also ammonia and all is okay so far.
Thanks again though
