Well I got my first tank (10 gallon) when I was 6 years old but wasn't really into it and it was mostly my dad's and now I'm 12 so I'd say 6 years!

My dad kept fish for most of his life and let us kids help out. Left home many years ago and what with work and stuff never got involved with fish. Bought my kids tanks last year and have become completely hooked (must in the jeans  ) so only 1 year or so really, still learning by my mistakes sometimes, but lucky to be part of a great network of very knowledgeable friends. ie you lot :D

i started getting snails and fish at about 11-12 years old. now i'm 14, the last year or two is when i became obsessed and then i started puddle inc.

I got my first tank about 25 years ago, but I took a few years off. back before the internet, it was harder to be successful in the hobby, IMO.

yikes. I can't believe I'm that old...

Got a betta 4yrs ago, he lived for 3yrs while I was living at home.

Have had my current tropical tank for over a month now, researched for a good 6 months before I brought it.

Already wanting to upgrade to a 215lt from a 55lt.

Its a very addictive hobby.

Seriously learning for the last two years.

Been a fishkeeper for 25 years.

My mum has had a koi pond for about 12 years or more, but I have never really took a huge interest in it. I have always enjoyed looking at the fish, though.
As for fishkeeping myself - my eldest son kept badgering me for a small tank for his bedroom about 2 years ago. I relented eventually, and now we are on our third tank, and it is now down in the lounge. I think you can safety say that my son is responsible for my getting into fishkeeping.
