Fish Fanatic
Hi everyone. One of my fishes has a white protrusion on the head; it doesn't look like white spot as the pics I've seen of this involves many tiny little spots. I'm thinking it is probably some type of fungal infection the fish became vulnerable too when the water quality wasn't doing well. As far as I can tell none of the other fish have it. I wanted to catch the fish who has his and do an "hourly dip" described on the product, however it is virtually impossible to catch a particular garra rufa fish, as they are so fast, and difficult enough to catch them at random. Therefore I decided it would be best to add the medicine to the whole tank, which is said to be filter safe (therefore it sounds fairly gentle). I hope I am doing the right thing- believe me it really is difficult to catch these fish. I have removed the chemical filtration (Seachem Purigen and a bag of carbon) in order for it to work more effectively (I found an answer on a site about whether you can use it with chemical filtration, and although it is safe to, it won't be as effective).
I've used it for 2 days so far, but can't see any difference yet. I wonder if this white thing really is some type of infection, or if it is simply a cyst?
