How long do you leave the male guppie with the two females for breeding, till you can take him away??
thanks

i dont have a definite timeline for you, but not long, once he feels comfortable in the tank he will have his wicked way with the girlies pretty quickly :)

Any reason why you are sperating them ? They can live happily along side each other unless you want to control the amount of breeding that goes on?

You should worry more about the females eating them as they will too. Some eat them right as they r giving birth

i know but i can move her straight away if i need to, some females develop hormone and dont usually eat their fry for up to first 12 hours. but at least if i take male out then he is out of the equation nyway so any ideas roughly how long to leave him in with them for until i could remove him??

I have been breeding guppies along with platys for 8 years i have never known a female not to eat or attempt to eat her fry for 12 hours  anyway if you want to remove the male i'd say leave him in with the females for around two weeks or once you notice the females getting fatter that way you'll know that he has done his job

good luck :good:

My endlers (family poecilia wingeii) give birth eith neither male or female eating the young.it helps to heavily plant your tank . good luck :good:
