How long do platies live?

I am not having any luck finding an index that says. Weird! The only clue I can find is that they live longer than guppies, which I believe is approximately 3 years. HTH!

u know theres so many factors involved that im not even gunna get into it most if taken care of well will live to be 3 years old but keep in mind when u buy them at ur lfs they ar alredy a year or so old. iv got a buddy who raised one to be like 5 years old, thats kinda a freak thing thogh.

GuppyDude, Do you have a pic of your swordtail guppy? I have never heard of one, much less seen one...
