I was a bit surprised to find that my JBL 500gm bootle had virtually run out at a bit less than 6 weeks of use. Its's on for 11 hrs a day. My tap water has a high ph/kh so runs at a few bubbles per minute, so I'm guessing that 6 weeks is not too bad.

My tank is 100L.

Does 6 weeks seem about right?

yep round about there. Perhaps up to two months.

Anywhere in London that refills them there and then? I know Wildwoods in Enfield do, but I can't get there until the weekend. I'm sure everything will survive until the weekend.

Only one I know of is Tropicals & Marines in Mortlake SW14.
Else if you go into Wholesale Tropicals in Bethnal Green they do a straight swap.

Else you could ring around some companies that refill fire extinguishers. I believe it's a lot cheaper.

Thanks-I'll give Terry a ring in Bethnal Green-I must say that Wholesale Tropicals are a very helpful shop-I felt quite guilty buying some of my stuff online!

Me too ! That's why I always ask if he can do a cash price match ;)

I've been running mine for about three months now (20 lb tank) and it feels almost empty.

Luckily the gas store near me will refill it for $17
