This may be random and stupid, but I'm genuinely curious.

There's this LFS somewhat near my grandpa's house with beautiful gorgeous plants and I'd like to get some for my new tank. Unfortunately, they would have to stay in the bag for 24 hours, as I have to get them the day before Thanksgiving and then Thanksgiving night I'll drive back home and be able to plant them ASAP.

Would they survive this long in a bag with water?

It depends on the plant, but i really dont think you'll have much of a problem. I bought a buncha plants from a member of this forum and they were bagged for a full 5 days before they got into some water.

They should be be fine, as long as they arn't kept in really cold temps overnight. When shipped, plants can stay boxed for a week oe two.

Like the other two have said they should be fine, as ianho said don't keep them in cold temperatures.

I had a large amount of plants left in a white plastic bag for a week and to my surprise they were fine (did need a little trimming) and they're doing great now. I imagine humidity plays a part but probably not for only 24hours.

My plants survived for 3 days in a bag, but it had a tiny bit of tank water in it, which I think helps :good:
