My mollie gave birth today and I have moved the fry to a seperate tank (30+ of them) and I don't know when to feed them, i'm going to give them crushed flake, but I don't know how many flakes for all of them? All advice is appreciated, thanks!

They should be fed 4-6 times per day, if possible. Just a tiny, tiny amount. It may take some experimentation to get the amount right. Just be sure to keep the water clean. It'd also be beneficial to substitute in some high protein foods (Frozen, Freeze-dried, Live) and some veggies for them. :)

What do you mean by how long until you feed them? They need to be fed from day one. :)

Oh sugar, I read on other articles that fry need to be fed after about 3 days! I assumed it was the same for all fry! Should I overfeed them as they didn't get any yesterday or just do a normal ammount?

Thanks,
Neal

Some fry have egg sacs they eat off of for a few days, but that's not usually the case with Livebearers. Just feed them the normal amount, you don't want to them to get bloated or constipated.

Edit- Last post was pointless!

Thanks Anna, you have probably saved them all from starving to death, I have 2 snails in there as 'company' and I hope to be getting some MTS soon and keeping my tank nice and clean! :D
Thanks,
Neal

Glad I could help. And now you know for the next batch (there WILL be a next batch...for sure ). Snails are good cleaners, but just beware...they breed like no tomorrow. You could end up with a tank full of snails in a few weeks.

give them about 3 flakes crushed up every 6-8 hours.
usualy 3 to 4 time a day.
good luck with your fry.
