I have 3 female platys which I got at the end of September. I fear one of them may be expecting, but it's been almost a month and no sign of babies. How long are they usually pregnant for? And how can I tell for sure?

it general 28-31 days so you can put notes on a calendar and their be very close.

I think that means that if she is pregnant, the latest she'll give birth is this weekend. Fingers crossed that she isn't!

They are pregnant for about a month most of the time. I had a mom one time take 5 and a half weeks to give birth though!

No fry yet, but she still looks pregnant and is a lot less lively than the other two platys and is hiding at the back by the heater. Not sure if she's about to drop!

the gestation period is about 16 - 32 days from what ive been told. You can also expect to have another brood of fry a few months later from the same female. The female will keep some of the males sperm and fertlize some more eggs a few months later even without the male.
