A little advice please.

I have treated my tank recentley for problems with melafix and interpet 9. ( with the help of wilder, what would I do without her) :thanks:

I have finished the course of treatment, and only lost 1 fish.

I think though that I need to treat for constipation now as they do seem to have long poos at the moment - have been feeding shelled peas as well from time to time.

I would like to just treat for this to be on the safe side.

I did 20% water change yesterday as told by the medicine company, and i have put the carbon back in my internal, and the zeo carb in my external to remove any remanider.

How long before I can add the king british revitiliser tonic for the constipation - I have used this before with great success.

Thanks

i'd leave the carbon in for 24 hrs, then remove it, then all your meds should be gone and then your safe to start treating for anything else.

:hyper: Hi we had a problem in our tank, we had to treat it . We were told to take out the carbon do the treatment and leave out for a few days, when we went to to it back we were told to use new carbon.

you will need to remove the carbon, during medication! but there is little point in keeping it after it is used to remove the meds. just replace it with more bio sponge. having a carbon section is more about LFS resale's than tank health.

Whats a bio sponge, i have the biomax and a polish pad in my external, and the zeo carb at the mo to remove the meds.

I always take the carbon out when i treat, but am unsure whether i should use it all the time, have heard bad things about leaving it in all the time.
