so i have a new 3ft 34 US gallon aquarium which i have only just started cycling so i am only just beginning planning what to stock it with at this stage but i would really like to get a bit of feedback on my ideas.

i was hoping to be able to get some angelfish (2 actually, my tank is 18inch tall)

and i definately want to get a bristle-nose catfish (maybe two im not sure how they do better)

4 coreys (havent decided what sort yet)

other than those i wanted to have either 1 or 2 schools of some small fish, im thinking rasboras or serpae tetra or either glowlight/flame/rummynose tetra.

oh and i like the red tailed sharks but i dont know much about them so im not sure if theyd work in here.

what i want to know is are there any major issues here? compatability or otherwise? any ideas about numbers of each fish

and can you have neons or cardinals with angels? i have read that you cant i have seen them together in pics of ppls tanks and at one of my lfs.

Sounds like a well researched good mix to me, though the rtbs may get aggressive with the cory's? not 100% on that though. I have read that angels eat neons, but never seen it. Cardinals would be safer as they are slightly larger.

How about 6 Zebra danios as your schooling fish, they are great fun to watch.

The RTBS might disturb the angels, not so worried about the cories... A BN pleco by itself should suffice, they produce a lot of waste, plus 1 will be enough to keep the tank free from algae. And you might get two males that'll fight over territory. Get another cory, but make sure they're all the same species. Rasboras school very tightly, so I'd choose them if you're into that look. Good luck!

That is very close to what I have picked out for my 75 gallon.

4 angels
4 blue rams
12 tetras (type undecided)
6 corys (type undecided)
2 - 3 algae eaters (dwarf plecos or bn catfish)

Be careful of the serpaes. We have 5 in our 29 gallon and they can be a little nippy at times. I'm going to stay away from those because of the angels. I'm leaning toward pristellas. Also, narrow bodied tetras like neons and cardinals could become dinner for the angels once they get large but if you have MTS like me, you will have another tank to move them into by then anyway.

I have 5 peppered cories, 7 harlequin rasboras, and 6 flame (von Rio) tetras in my 3 ft. 30 gallon long community tank. All of these fish work very well together.

thanks for the suggestions guys..

ive decided on
4 leopard coreys
2 angelfish
1 bristlenose cat

now when it comes to the little fishies im having trouble. trying to find something small that will school and wont nip the angels or be eaten by them. oh and that i can get at my local fish stores.

im going to go with the 7 hareliquin rasboras

but for the others i wanted something with color preferably, hence my original selections in my first post, however i am leaning towards black phantoms (which i think the lfs should have) or flame tetras (which im not sure they have)

any other ideas

oh and i think the lfs also has xray/pristella tetras, so maybe them

does anyone have any ideas about the order in which i should add these fish to the tank? and do any of them really prefer a mature tank?
