How Does My Angel Do That

I've noticed that my Angelfish can get short bursts of speed (when its want to quickly chase a rasbora away from his food), and obviously its fins are not made for that stuff, so I was wondering; How do Angelfish get that burst of speed? Is it some sort of jet action where they shoot water out of their body ?

no, it's just how they swim. they can swim that fast for some time if they need to but because they're in an aquarium with someone most probably looking out for the best intentions of the angel, it doesn't have to.
also, these fish are excellent stalkers. they swim up to smaller fish slowly, the smaller fish doesn't see it or thinks its no threat, and then BAM! before the smaller fish knows it, it's got itself in a tricky situation in an angelfish's mouth. they awsome fish

Most people don't think of them coming from the same family as the oscar, dempsy, etc... but they are cichlids

dont know. maybe because they conserve all their energy by just gliding in the water. and thats down to natural selection really.
