Just over 2WPG ! (1x40 watt Glolight bulb and 2x 38watt Arcadia FW bulbs)

My tank is around 56 uk gallons ! and is only 18 inch deep !

Dont want anything to adventurous until the tank has established a bit !

I would like to eventually have a carpet of Riccia on slate and maybe some kinds of Lotus !

I will have pressurized c02, Nutritous base susbsrate and will be using liquid ferts !

Do you think these plants will be ok as erm you could say starter plants haha !

Java Fern, Hairgrass, Vallis, Java Moss, Anubius and some Crypts possibly !

Thanks in advance

Richie :D

You are a bit light on fast growers with that list. Try for plants such as Hygrophilia polysperma, Egeria densa, Rotala sp. to start with, covering 75% of the substrate.

After two or three months when you have hopefully won the battle with algae, start stocking your tank with your first choice plants.

Dave.

Aside from the hairgrass, all the plants that you've listed on your post are good, low maintenance, "starter" plants!

Hairgrass is a bit of a toughie! Not a lot of people have had success with them!

But like Dave pointed out, you're going to need lots of fast growers!

Don't mind the "!", I'm just joshing with you  ;)

LOL !

Sorry Ive got a thing about exclamation marks haha !

I just do it automatically I'll try and cut down. :D

Thanks for the tips guys.

I was thinking... I was told to get pressurized c02 but would it be possible to keep some of the easier plants with a few homemade units for a while ? Until i gather the money for the pressurized system ?

As i say the tank is about 56uk gallons (240 litres)

Would this be a bad idea ?

My tanks been sitting there in the box on the floor for about 2months now and i would like to get it on its stand and running.

Thanks alot

Richie!

I'll just add that you're not at just over 2WPG as the 'rule' is worked out using US gallons (that's were it was invented). You've got a 67US gallon tank which actually means you're at 1.8WPG ;) buts that's no big deal for the type of tank you're after. Just thought I would let you know :)
