Hi, ill soon be setting up my juwel rekord 70 after xmas. I want to have a really nice tank, with lots of plants and caves made from slate. I was wondering, how do you tell if a plant should go at the front or back of an aquarium, is it by size?
And can someone postg a site with all pictures of plants and their names plz!!!!!!!!!!!

Generally, tall plants go to the back and small to the front. Basic design principle. If the short were in the back, you wouldn't see them, and if the tall were in the front, you wouldn't see your fish

But with taller plants in the back, you have sort of a background.
and with medium plants in the middle and small in the front, you get layers of the tank going, and a sense of symatry.

there are always exceptions, of course. Like check out my tank. I have uclaves in the front right corner. It works though because the stocks are thin and the leves are mostly to the surface.

edit: right now my foreground is empty, but I may let mossballs create an algea carpet.

yeh its mostly down to size and in some cases taste as you could trim stem plants i supose as short as you want but id advise not as you probibly wont get good growth *all stalk* kinda thing, but im not an exspert
