How do you prune aquatic plants?

Sharp, small scissors are the best. For grass-like plants always remove entire blades of grass instead of just cutting them. For stem plants with multiple leaves radiating from the stem clip off the leaves closest to the stem or you can clip the entire stem. It's reccomended that you clip these plants right above a node (Where the leaves extend from); sometimes they'll grow two stems from that point. Plants with single big leaves like Java Fern or Amazon Sword should be trimmed by clipping the stem that supports the leaf as close as you can to the gravel.

I use long handled nail scissors (meant for old peeps who cann't reach their toes)
