I have heard people calling them Bey-ta in some videos mainly American accented people, to me its always been Bett-a, whats the correct pronunciation.

I meant Bay-ta, incase people are thinking Bey-ta is Bee-ta.

It's Bett-a . The e and t's are pronuonced in a short sharp fashion, not drawn out or elongated when you say them.

If it was meant to be pronounced Bay-ta or Bee-ta as many Americans do, then the spelling of the word would be Beta as the greek word.

i dont really care just love the fish and have lots of them and as long as you care for them properly you can pronounce it however you want

i say it how i want if its wrong its wrong lmao

You must be feeling foolish with the wrong pronuinciation that you have been using all along, therefore the defensive posturing.

Bay-ta is incorrect ( not that it really matters anyway )

Pla-tee is the correct pronounciation. Play-tee is not.
